CROWNS AND GIFTS

So I am here, listening to the song that Jesus you are beautiful. And the lyrics go:

I humbly lay my crown before you

And I begin to think about those words, and I had always wondered why we get crowns in heaven, and yet we say, we lay it at his feet, as if it’s something we really choose to do and as if we’re doing a favor

To me, it’s pointless because he literally just gave us the crown and it’s his technically.

And the act to me just didn’t really make sense.

But the Lord expanded my mind.

He immediately showed me that everything that we have is given by him. The life that we have. The breath that we have. The body that we have. The family that we have. The earth that we have.  Every sense of consciousness.

And then God asked us to give it back to him out of our own will, and desire!

Because all of these things are gifts. And when God gives a gift, he does not take it back.

God is so pure and holy and righteous that once he gives a gift, he never takes it back!

Due to that one aspect, alone of his nature, we are here. We get gifts every day. The Bible speaks about the Lord giving gifts to men. He is a father, who loves to give.

So the act of returning everything that we are back to him as worship is the actual only gift of appreciation that we can give.

There is no way you can give God something that he has not already given you. There’s nothing that God needs.

So, while we will get to heaven and get crowns, we will still have the choice to not throw it at his feet.

And well, that seems like an impossible thing to exist once we were in heaven. (Who would dare?!)But it also speaks to the fact that we will be in perfect unison, and in the will  of God. All our desires will be perfect.

And so, when you are given something by God, and make no mistake, you are given everything by God – then you need to bring it back to him to glorify him.

Everything about you was created to love him. You are a mirror image of him.  Everything about him loves you.

If you need a reason of why this constant back-and-forth of giving a gift and giving it back. There it is.  It’s a mirror of love.

YOU ARE GIVEN EVERYTHING WITH A CHOICE AND WHAT YOU CHOOSE TO DO WITH IT REVEALS WHAT YOUR HEART IS

Revelation 4:10-11King James Version

10 The four and twenty elders fall down before him that sat on the throne, and worship him that liveth for ever and ever, and cast their crowns before the throne, saying,

11 Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.
